HDRN Canada is recruiting for its volunteer Board of Directors, which plays a formative role in shaping the growth and evolution of the network.

“This is a great opportunity for people with an interest and expertise in administrative health data to make a real difference. This is especially true as HDRN Canada continues to expand its role as a facilitator of multi-regional data access in Canada,” said Jeannie Shoveller, Chair of the Board’s Nominations Committee.

While the recruitment process always seeks diversity in geography, languages, culture, ethnicity and gender, this year’s outreach is focused on applicants with Indigenous lived experience or experience in Indigenous health research environments and research partnerships. “Inclusion and diversity are foundations of our success, and are a central focus of how we support health data access and use. Ensuring we have adequate representation and guidance from Indigenous communities contributes to health equity as well as reconciliation,” commented Dr. Kim McGrail, HDRN Canada’s CEO and Scientific Director noted that

Directors serve without remuneration for a maximum of three consecutive three-year terms or nine consecutive years. The Board meets at least four times per year, with necessary expenses paid.

New Directors will be appointed by election or acclamation in accordance with HDRN Canada’s bylaws at the Board’s annual general meeting in August 2025. For more information and to apply, download the application package. Applications must be emailed to info@hdrn.ca by the March 15, 2025.
